La “neolingua” orwelliana de “1984” sigue viva y coleando en boca de Mariano Rajoy, en el año 2012. Mientras que en el libro de George Orwell “la guerra es la paz, la libertad es la esclavitud y la ignorancia es la fuerza”, la neolingua del PP nos enseña otras realidades. Ahora la amnistía fiscal es la “ley de regularización”, la reforma laboral es la “flexiblización de las condiciones para evitar el despido”, y los recortes sanitarios son el “copago progresivo de los medicamentos”. La subida del IRPF es un “recargo temporal de solidaridad”, y del mismo modo, la subida del IVA es la ”subida de impuestos indirectos en términos hacendísticos”. Por otra parte, los dos minutos de odio al día ahora, en la España del año 2012, duran todo el día y versan sobre el PSOE. Lo que Orwell denominaba el “Ministerio de la Verdad” hoy por hoy está encarnada en Soraya Saénz de Santamaría, portavoz de la verdad del PP. En 2010, el PP encabezó una campaña titulada “No más IVA”, sin embargo, Luis de Guindos anuncia el incremento del IVA sin mencionar las palabras “subida” ni IVA. Mariano Rajoy, el 22 de setiembre de 2011, antes de las elecciones generales, avisó que “nosotros seremos beligerantes contra las subidas de impuesto que haya hecho el gobierno, como ya hemos sido. Es decir, nos parece mal la subida del IVA.” El 17 de marzo del 2012, Cristóbal Montoro dijo que subida del IVA supondría un perjuicio para el empleo en España, aparte de ser “profundamente injusto”.
La neolingua orwelliana, hoy en el 2012 del PP, está muy presente como la flagrante contradicción y recuerda mucho a otras cabezas pensantes, las de Lenin y copiada por Goebbels, a saber, la de “Una mentira repetida mil veces se convierte en una realidad”. “Mire, yo voy a meter el tijeretazo a todo salvo a la sanidad y la educación”, dijo Rajoy antes de ganar las elecciones generales el año pasado. Después de tomarse un 
baño orwelliano, corta la sanidad y la educación por un 10-12% con recortes que suman a 10.000 millones de euros. Donde dije “digo”, digo “Diego”. Pero a pesar de la manía de la derecha de reescribir la historia, aún me queda el recuerdo del “mentiroso del Reino”, porque así fue tildado Rajoy en el año 2002. Acababa de romperse el “Prestige” y soltaba 125 toneladas de crudo al día. Rajoy declaró que “salen unos pequeños hilitos”. La contradicción flagrante, por no decir la mentira, tiene la costumbre de borrar nuestra memoria.

Orwellian “newspeak” from “1984” is alive and kicking in the mouth of Mariano Rajoy, in 2012. Whereas in George Orwell’s book “war is peace, freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength”, PP newspeak teaches us other realities. Now fiscal amnesty is the “regulatory law”, “labour reform” is “making the conditions more flexible to avoid dismissal” and health cuts are a “gradual co-payment of medicines”. The increase in income tax is a “temporary surcharge of solidarity”, and in the same manner, the increase in V.A.T. is a “rise in indirect taxes in tax terms”. On Furthermore, the two minutes of hate each day now, in the Spain of 2012, last all day and deal with the PSOE. What Orwell called the “Ministry of Truth” is nowadays embodied in Soraya Saénz de Santamaría, spokeswoman for PP truth. In 2010, the PP headed a campaign with “No more V.A.T.”, but however, Luis de Guindos announces in 2012 an increase in V.A.T. without even mentioning the words “increase” or “V.A.T.”. On 22nd September, 2011, before the general elections, Mariano Rajoy warned that “we will be belligerent, as we have been, against any tax rises imposed by the government. Montoro acknowledged that it would be detrimental to employment in Spain, apart from being “profoundly unfair”. Orwellian newspeak, today in the PP’s 2012, is very much present in the form of blatant contradiction and highly reminiscent of other thinking heads, those of Lenin who was copied by Goebbels, namely, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it”. “Look”, said Rajoy on a radio interview before he won the general elections last year, “I’m going to make severe cuts in everything except health and education”. After taking an Orwellian bath, he cut health and education by 10-12%, amounting to a reduction of 10,000 million euros. He says one thing and does another. But despite the right-wing’s obsession with rewriting history, I still recall the “liar of the Kingdom” as Rajoy was nicknamed back in 2002. The “Prestige” had just broken up and was pouring out 125 tonnes of crude oil a day. Rajoy stated that “some thin threads are oozing out”. Blatant contradiction, if not an outright lie, usually tends to delete our memory.
